The 9th Annual Colorado Dragon Boat Festival (CDBF) is Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26, in Denver. This free family-friendly festival attracts over 100,000 people annually to experience Colorado’s diverse Asian Pacific American heritage through performing arts, cultural education, cuisine, arts and crafts, and two days of action-packed dragon boat races.

Manea Porinesia was one of the many great entertainers who represented the Polynesian Dance and Music.

We thank you for inviting us to be apart of this great event, We had a great time dancing and sharing the Polynesian Culture..

Mahalo

Here are few quotes from the Local NewsPaper!!!

The Manea Porinesia Polynesian dancers were a hit, especially for children who lined part of the floor to get close to the action..

Manea Porinesia also caught the eyes of the audience with the beautiful dances from all over Polynesia.

Everyone in the group has ties with Hawaii, but they also do the unique dances of Tahiti, Samoa and New Zealand, said Shauna Medeiros, a partner in the group. Their performances are essentially a review of the islands and the name of the group means ‘beautiful Polynesia.”

Partner Simone Steele said some of the dancers had performed in other revues in places like Six Flags parks, Water World and country clubs, but decided to start their own group which is dedicated to their passion for the cultures and the Aloha spirit.

Their work is not just for entertainment, they try to educate people, Medeiros said.

All the costumes are handmade from materials which come from the islands, Steele said.

Traditional drums called toere, pahu and apa are used to keep the beat, Medeiros said.

The dances are traditional, but Steele has added her own contemporary touches to make them unique, she said.
